students to whom it has
awarded scholarships for the 2011-2012 school year. This year, the
foundation awarded $20,000 to 15 students — double the funds it

December 22, 2009 – SpaRetailer magazine and the International
Hot Tub Association are happy to announce they have reached a

The International Hot Tub Association was accepted into the American
National Standards Institute this past May. The IHTA hopes to write
and revise standards for the portable hot tub industry. The
association also has assembled an Engineering Committee that will help
define technical areas that need standardizing. As standards develop

 In December 2008, the California Energy Commission’s Title 20
adopted new amendments that adjust the appliance efficiency standards
to spa testing and pool and spa pumps and motors. The new amendments
are supported by APSP and were accomplished through APSP’s
